Mindstorm

A fearsome & fantastic journey to the heart of the Savage Id.

Name:
Location: Invisible City, North Dakota, United States

Read my book, The Mind-Warp Era. It'll tell you about the real Lead--& his alter-ego, the true Rootboy covered with slime (the Savage Id). Partly a poignant memoir, partly a cosmicomic book, it relays the Id's adventures thru dark dimensions of funereal dread, with Timothy Leary as co-pilot. (The rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.)

The Invisible foot doctor, the 90-mile dentist, & the Ambien psychiatrist

A lot of things seem to be happening at once -- Trish being prescribed trazadone (which has her currently in bed; don't blame her: it isn't even 7:00 A.M.); I have to have surgery on my right foot (the one hurt hardest in the fall); & a screaming psychiatric nurse from the City of Electric Light who must've thought I was Bozo Rebebo & not capable of understanding what my meds are or how to use them.

Trazadone works well for Trish, helping her to sleep all nite, & seems to help her mood with its antidepressant effects.

New medical problems always arise anew, though: when I saw the foot doctor yesterday, after waiting about 1/2 an hour, he had a lab tech X-ray it, & it turns out that a screw from an old surgery is loosening up in my foot. Next Wednesday (following my pre-op tomorrow) I'll be under the knife. Trish will have 2 days to take care of me, & I'll have a dressing on my foot, no restrictions about staying off it. (Except I'm still not going to the Soup Kitchen; someone might step on it. Just to be mean.)

I also had to phone Doc Larocque's office about still waking up at 4:20 on Ambien; I'd gotten sick of all that, called. The pharmacist had told me it also exists in controlled release form, so I asked for Ambien-CR, &/or a change in my Abilify.

Though Doc Larocque had herself posited it as a treatment option, Lori, the nurse, was very insistent about not-going off the Abilify, which is good, as it helps with the negative effects of the schizophrenia.

Then my insurance balked, I had to make a bunch of calls, & finally found a fax number for the doctor to fill out paperwork.

Trish made burritos for supper, after which I watched cable while Trish mopped the kitchen floor. Skiffy still comes in lousy. Need to call the company, ask for someone who knows what s/he's doing.

Woke up at 3:00, fell back asleep until 5:00, got up around 1/4 to 6:00. Trish sleeps sweetly. Until tomorrow, it's just some other time.
